Play-Action Boot

Tackle football, 7 on 7 · Trick

Play-Action Boot101020203030BootFakeFlatCrossGCGXZQR

The boot halves the side you have to protect, and with three blockers that is not a matter of taste. The youth rule plays into it: up to U16 the one immediate blitzer may cross the neutral zone only inside the formation, so edge pressure can only come late. The edge is exactly where the boot goes. Call it only once the run has worked.

How the drawing is made

The drawing above is not a reproduction. It comes from the same library a new playbook gets its ready-made plays from, and it is drawn by the same renderer as the printout on game day. Take Play-Action Boot into Routetree and this is exactly what you get.

It is drawn to the dimensions of Tackle football, 7 on 7. The same idea on a different field needs different spacing, which is why every concept sits in the format it applies to.
